Show Your PowerPoint Presentations on Nexus 10 Perfectly

nexus 10
Google lunched Nexus 4, Nexus 10 and update Nexus 7 on Oct 29, 2012 and all of them runs the latest 4.2 android operating system - Jelly Bean, which supports a Gesture Typing keyboard, and a Photo Sphere camera. All three will be available Nov 13, 2012.

The Nexus 10 by Samsung will be offered with 16GB of storage for $399 and 32GB of storage for $499 in the Google Play store. The price really can make Nexus 10 a strong competitor of Apple iPad. Besides, it will have the highest resolution of any tablet at 2560 x 1600 pixels for a 300-pixels-per-inch screen. It also offers a battery with nine hours of video playback.

Work with Nexus 10
With the world's highest resolution display, Nexus 10 is very suitable for watching movies. Even working with it becomes a beautiful enjoyment. 10-inch display expands keyboard and viewer, compared with 4-inch and 7-inch devices. PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents are used widely in our daily work. Doing operating on them are the basic function for tablets.
nexus 10

Running Android 4.2 os, Nexus 10 owns ability to free download android office apps from Google Play easily. Developers has provided both free and paid apps for android devices to create, simply edit and view office documents. Such as, top 6 powerpoint viewers, office apps, and free PDF apps. Most of these android apps from Google Play are able to satisfy your basic requirements on work.

Comparing with Microsoft Office for PC, office apps are not strong as the original one. Microsoft Office provides much more functions to businessmen. eg. In Microsoft PowerPoint, you are allowed to add background music, embed videos, and animations into your presentations. But these can't be shown normally on Nexus 10 with the simple office apps.

For professional presentations, keep everything during showing by converting powerpoint to video first. Save powerpoint as videos directly in Microsoft 2010 FREE and you will get a WMV video. For more output video formats, these free video converters will help you.

Using older Microsoft PowerPoint versions, PowerPoint 2007, PowerPoint 2003? Leawo PowerPoint to Video Converter is here for you. It contains more output video formats, by the way.

3 Ways to Play PowerPoint Smoothly on Asus PadFone 2

Asus PadFone2
Padfone is still the top phone-tablet devices. The new one - Padfone2 was released serveral days ago. Rely on its better features, Padfone2 will be popular after it is avaliable.

The handset has some changes in its size, from 128 x 65.4 x 9.2 mm to 137.9 x 68.9 x 9 mm and the weight is less than the previous one, which is 649g (135+514g). The 4.7 inch display with the 1280x720 resolution must give users a better experience during using. RAM is expanded to 2GB. Bluetooth v4.0 is added to PadFone 2, too. PadFone 2 still runs Android operating system. Apps from Google Play run normally on it.

Method 1
Asus provides online free version of Microsoft Office this time. Since Asus offers 50GB of online Asus storage space free of cost for 2 years, you are able to access your office related files online through a browser and edit them using Asus-provided free online version of Microsoft office.

Method 2
PadFone2 runs normal Android operating system. Android apps are OK to use on PadFone2. There are many professional documents apps in Google Play. TOP 6 Free PowerPoint Viewers are popular ones of them.

Method 3
Both of the two ways above provides the basic functions in powerpoint viewer. They are still not as strong as real Microsoft PowerPoint. We could add animations, audios, and videos into powerpoint presentations on PC, but couldn't on this android device. Vice versa. PadFone2 doesn't have the ability to play a powerpoint document with embedded multimedia files. Then, here is a solution before us - convert powerpoint to video, keeping everything the same in output video. PadFone 2 plays videos coded in MPEG4, H.263 and H.264 HD 1080p. As long as we convert presentations to these videos, PadFone2 will play them smoothly.

In Microsoft PowerPoint 2010, you can save your slideshow as wmv videos, but Microsoft doesn't give you right to set the code way. Leawo PowerPoint to Video Converter is a professional converter to finish this. All of the original powerpoint document will be converted to the special video as you like.
  • Input your powerpoint
  • leawo powerpoint to video converter
  • Do settings, such as output path, video quality, and audio quality. You can also preview the presentation in the right window.
  • leawo powerpoint to video converter

Asus PadFone 2 vs PadFone: 2nd Generation Smartphone-Tablet is Coming

Asus Padfone2

The second generation Padfone has been released by Asus in Taiwan. There is no doubt that it is an innovative product. Asus Padfone is still the only smartphone-tablet hybrid device from a mainstreem manufacturer until now. The dividing line between phone and tablet is more and more vague.

Asus Padfone 2 has innovations.
  • Compared with the original, the new one is much lighter at 649g and does away with the Padfone Station Dock, the third component of the original Padfone which adds a keyboard. At the same time, the handset display size is lager, from 4.3 inch to 4.7 inch and the Super IPS+HD display make colors vibrant.
  • The new Padfone 2 is also more powerful, sporting the new quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, supported by 2,140 mAh battery.
  • For some strange reason, Asus decided to use a customized version of the micro-USB port of the Padfone 2 and Padfone 2 Station. While you can still use a normal micro-USB cable to charge (and it does seem secure), we noticed that you could wiggle the port (which may result in a freak accident and you snapping the cable/port.
  • Speaking of the camera, it records 720p at a whopping 60fps, which is outstanding, and 1080p at 30fps, and can take up to 100 continuous full-resolution images.
  • The Padfone 2 (main smartphone component) is priced at $616/$684/$750 for the 16GB/32GB/64GB version. Sadly, there isn’t a microSD card expansion slot. The Padfone Station add-on (the slate component) will retail for $307.

  • There are more same points in display between Kindle Fire HD and Nexus 7, than Kindle Fire HD 8.9'' and The New iPad. Such as the size, resolution, and the technology.
  • Though they both run Android, Nexus 7 runs the latest Android operating system without no modification. Kindle Fire HD runs a modified version of Android 4.0 and users have to download apps on Amazon Appstore for Android. Amazon Appstore for Android is still being built now, so, apps are less than Google Play. But Kindle Fire HD is inextricably tied to Amazon's much-beloved ecosystem of digital media storefronts, including Kindle e-books, Amazon MP3s, and Amazon video on demand.
  • Besides WiFi and Bluetooth, Nexus 7 add two more connection ways, GPS and NFC.
  • According to the price lists, Nexus 7 with 8GB is at $199 while Kindle Fire HD with 16GB is at $199. When the storage doubles, the prices of both two will raise $50.
  • Don't be worry about working with the two devices. Though there isn't anything detailed about office tools on Kindle Fire HD, it must at least have the same office programs like Kindle Fire. As to Nexus 7, besides the office apps in Google Play, you can also play presentations in many other ways on Nexus 7.
If you wanna a better device to read e-books, Kindle Fire HD is the best choice. If you just wanna a high cost performance Android tablet for more functions, think about Nexus 7 more. Let's wait for much more detailed specifics about this new Kindle Fire HD.

Kindle Fire HD 8.9'' vs. The New iPad

kindle fire hd vs the new ipad
2012 is a year in which technology companies like releasing their latest devices, such as Apple, Google, and Samsung. Not long ago, a series of Kindle tablets are launched by their developer - Amazon. The time is just on several days before Apple's day. So, latest Kindle Fire tablets are considered as the competitor of Apple. Of course, the same to technology companies.

Though the Kindle Fire HD hasn't available until now, it's really a difficult choice between the new iPad and Kindle Fire HD. There are different size of Kindle Fire HD, 7 inch and 8.9 inch. If you are doubting about both the two large screen devices - iPad 3 and Kindle Fire HD 8.9'', please find something important to you in the below table.

  • If the tablet is only a book reader for you, there is no doubt that, Kindle Fire HD is your best choice. If you wanna update your existing tablet and wanna stronger functions, iPad 3 is better.
  • The sizes of display have small difference. Amazon updates its technology, but the resolution is still a little lower than iPad 3. The same to front camera.
  • iOS operating system is Apple's LOGO. It's sure different from others, including Android. But this time, Kindle Fire HD 8.9'' runs a modified version of Android 4.0.
  • Apple App Store owns over 500,000 apps for the new iPad users, while Amazon is still building its Appstore for Android. In this side, Apple wins a score, I think.
  • To work with The New iPad, iWork is one of your choices. And in Kindle Fire HD 8.9'', besides the office tool which is preinstalled, you can also download apps from Amazon Appstore for Android. If you are still not satisfied, try other ways to work, such as play powerpoint on the new ipad and view powerpoint on Kindle Fire HD with more funny.
  • Like other popular tablets, Kindle Fire HD 8.9'' owns Micro USB and HDMI ports. Then, more connections between devices are much easy.
  • Comes to the price, an important element when choosing the final one to buy. Amazon Kindle Fire HD is $199, Fire HD 8.9'' is $299 and HD 8.9'' with 4G is $499. The New iPad is a lot more expensive.

Play Presentations on iPad Mini

iPad Mini
"iPad Mini" was confirmed this week as the name of Apple's new 7.85'' tablet. It's considered as the smaller version of iPad. And Apple finally choose 7.85'' instead of the first idea of the 7 inch from Steve Jobs. Then, it isn't a difficult thing to enjoy app when iPad reduces its screen a little. Maybe the tablet will look moare like an oversized iPod Touch than a smaller iPad.

The device will be 7.2mm thick, or thin. The full-fat iPad is 9.4mm. The resolution is pointed to be 1024x768 by some rumors. The basic iPad Mini is likely to have 8GB on board, purely to keep those costs down.Different from the new iPad, iPad Mini won't have a camera on board.

The release date is likely to be fixed in October 2012, a month later than iPhone 5. There isn't any exact information about iPad Mini's price. All of people only infer the range based on existing data, such as from $249 to $299, and $300 to $350. A 3G version will be here for iPad Mini. Of course, the price will be a little higher than Wi-Fi version.

There is no doubt that iPad Mini would be Apple's thermonuclear device that destroys Amazon and Android devices. You can see more basic specs on Upcoming Next Kindle Fire vs. iPad Mini vs. Nexus 7.

Play Presentations on iPad Mini
Apple has developed Keynote already, which can satisfy users basic office work requirements, such as create, edit and play simple presentations. Of course, it has the same functions in other types of office documents, word and excel. After paying $70, you can use it. Some third-party apps are also recommended. Quickoffice Pro and Documents To Go are top ones in this field.

I'm not sure whether you have already known these tools or not. During your practical application, you will find differences between them and Microsoft PowerPoint on pc. Microsoft PowerPoint and Keynote are incompatible. Export the presentations made in Keynote to ppt to play them on pc. Similarly, before playing Microsoft PowerPoint on iPad Mini, convert ppt to Keynote first. If you don't want to loss anything in Microsoft PowerPoint, save powerpoint as video. eg. you don't have to worry about the animation compatiblity.

Upcoming Next Kindle Fire vs. iPad Mini vs. Nexus 7

Amazon kindle Fire 2

On Amazon's big press event in September, this company most likely introduce their new Kindle Fire. There are also rumors that Amazon would unvild its first smartphone with their star product, even a new lineup of readers is going to join the Kindle Touch and classic Kindle. Both the Kindle Touch and Touch 3G are listed as "out of stock" on Amazon website since this Monday. It's undeniable that new device may join the Fire while Kindle Touch is eliminated from lineup.

The latest rumors in June 2012, point to three Kindle Fire 2 (probably won't be "Kindle Fire 2") models, a 7-inch, an 8.9 inch, and a 10 inch version. The bigger 10-inch Kindle Fire 2 is reportedly codenamed "Hollywood" which will be based on the Nvidia Tegra 3, bringing a screaming quad-core processor with a 500% performance increase.

Additionally, the device is said to include a HDMI-out port, front-facing camera, and a microUSB port. Sources say that the e-reader will display at a 1280 x 800 resolution, and will now have a metal casing around its body.

The new Kindle Fire will be priced at the same level as the current Kindle Fire, $199. Then, the old model may drops to $149.

Like the original Kindle Fire, the new Kindle Fire won't support office documents directly. If you want to play Microsoft PowerPoint on Kindle Fire 2, the best way is converting powerpoint to video, keeping everything from been modified.

Play PowerPoint on iPad with the Latest App - Haiku Deck

Haiku Deck logo
Apple provide Keynote on Apple devices to play PowerPoint presentations. It does make showing slides easily after paying. But users still couldn't experience all of the functions which Microsoft PowerPoint has, though users can export Keynote files to microsoft powerpoint documents, or import microsoft powerpoint files into Keynote.

A new App was released on Apple App Store these days. It named Haiku Deck developed by Giant Thinkwell. You can download Haiku Deck on itunes.apple.com.

Haiku Deck could be downloaded free. It was latest updated on August 14, 2012. The English app is 45.6M. And it is compatible with iPad Requires iOS 5.0 or later.

Haiku Deck is the simple new way to create extraordinary presentations for any occasion - when you are telling a story, enlivening a meeting, teaching a lesson, or pitching an idea.

  • Choose perfect look from a range of stylish themes or you can import images from your iPad, Flickr, Picasa, Instagram, or Facebook for a personalized touch.

Haiku Deck screenshot
  • Besides applying fonts and image settings, Haiku Deck also support perfect layout for each slide with one tap.

Haiku Deck screenshot
  • You can not only share your decks to email, Twitter and Facebook, but also export to PowerPoint or Adobe .pdf. So, besides showing with an iPad, a projector, a smartphone or any web brower, users have many ways to deal with their presentations.

Haiku Deck screenshot
  • The most important thing is that - Haiku Deck is totally FREE. Nothing is needed to be paid before you use it.

But the a fly in the ointment is that Haiku Deck doesn't support adding animations and multimedia, such as background music or videos. It is still the disadvantage of Keynote, too. And the only way to solve this is that, converting powerpoint presentations to videos in .mp4 on computers, keeping everything from original files. And then, showing videos on iPad.

Comparison Between Microsoft Surface and Apple iPad

surface and ipad
Microsoft on Monday finally had its Apple moment. It unveiled a family of home-brewed tablets to rival Apple's iPad at an extremely hush-hush event here in Los Angeles shrouded in mystery and speculation. Microsoft is taking a huge leap with a mobile-friendly tablet, built on its new Window 8 operating system, which rolls out this fall.

The Microsoft Surface Pro and RT tablets will be designed in-house. The company is stepping into the tablet market at a critical juncture when growth in PC sales is slowing and consumer interest in iPads is soaring. Even some tablets built on Google's rival Android mobile operating system, such as the Amazon Kindle Fire, are selling strongly.

Microsoft said the smallest Surface tablet is 9.3 millimeters thick and weighs 1.5 pounds, which is similar to Apple's iPad, at 9.4 millimeters thick and 1.44 pounds. The Surface has a 10.6-inch screen compared with the iPad's 9.7-inch screen. Microsoft also emphasized the use of the Surface with a keyboard, a convertible usage model that the company has helped champion and Apple has publicly discounted.

Since the first Microsoft Surface models hasn't been come out until Windows 8 is generally available, we can only get small parts of its specs. And let's compare them with iPad.

Microsoft Surface vs. Apple iPad (released features)
surface and ipad

View Office Documents
Microsoft Office will run perfectly on Surface, depending on its Windows 8 operating system. But iPad can't.
For iPad, iWork can help users to work at it, though It's not free and not strong as Microsoft Office. eg. some animations, embedded audios and videos are not able to be played in Keynote. But there is still some ways to view powerpoint on iPad normally. And, if you need, you can also convert iWork documents to Microsoft Office documents.
